RECAP: Thailand reports a total of 4,528 daily Covid-19 infections with 24 additional deaths in the past 24 hours

Thailand reported a total of 4,528 daily Covid-19 infections with 24 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, CCSA assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan announced this morning, May 30th.

The fatalities were 11 men and 13 women from Bangkok (14), Nonthaburi (3), Chonburi (2), Chiang Mai (1), Samut Prakan (1), Samut Sakhon (1), Saphan Buri (1), and Nakhon Sri Thammarat (1). The age range was between 38 and 86 years old.

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, chronic kidney disease, past strokes, chronic lung diseases, and heart disease. One of them was a bedridden patient and another three did not reportedly have any health conditions.

Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest numbers of patients were reported in Bangkok and Phetchaburi (at an electronics industrial estate) with 754, followed by Samut Prakan with 264, Nonthaburi with 139 (at a new construction worker camp), and Chonburi with 90.

Additionally, the total number of 1,902 infections discovered in prisons nationwide in the past 24 hours added the cumulative number of infected inmates during the third wave of the Covid-19 outbreak to 24,300.

As of today, 2,933 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 154,307 cases with 105,244 recoveries and a total of 1,012 deaths since the start of the pandemic. About 37,904 people received their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccination and another 6,301 people received their second shot yesterday, marking a total number of 3,548,330 vaccinated people in Thailand who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
