Thailand announces 4,803 new cases of Covid-19, 2,702 of those in prison, and 34 additional deaths

Thailand reported 2,050 new Covid-19 domestic infections and 2,702 confirmed cases at prisons as well as 51 imported cases, marking a total of 4,803 daily infections, with 34 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

Among the local 2,050 new domestic cases, excluding the cases at the prisons, the highest number of infections listed by provinces were discovered in Bangkok with 1,054, Samut Prakan 215, Nonthaburi 186, Chonburi 80 and Pathum Thani 65.

The fatalities were 18 men and 16 women from Bangkok (21), Pathum Thani (2), Chiang Rai (2), Samut Prakan (2), Phetchaburi(1), Petchaboon (1), Nonthaburi (1), Autthaya (1), Ratchaburi (1), Songkhla (1) Saraburi (1).

Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, chronic kidney disease, lung disease, heart disease, obesity, liver disease and strokes.

Nine of them did not reportedly have any health conditions.

96,599 people got their first vaccination shot yesterday with 60,472 getting their second, making a total of 3,504,125 people who have been vaccinated in Thailand with at least one dose against Covid-19 so far.
