A repairman has sustained serious injuries after falling through a roof while refilling refrigerant liquid in an air conditioner in Pattaya.
Emergency responders from Sawang Boriboon were notified of the incident yesterday (May 25th) at an apartment in South Pattaya around 1:00 P.M.
First responders and The Pattaya News reporters arrived at the scene to find the injured man, Mr. Panuwat Chuapkrasong, 47, sitting on the ground, conscious and cognizant but seriously injured. He had sustained injuries to his mouth, legs, and broken one arm. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance and surgery.
His co-worker, who asked for his name to be withheld, told The Pattaya News that Mr. Panuwat was refilling refrigerant liquid in an air conditioner. He stood on a roof that was about two meters above the ground while working. Roofing tile, seen in the photo below, gave way suddenly, sending Panuwat to the ground.
An apartment resident nearby told The Pattaya News they heard something shatter before seeing Mr. Panuwat on the ground shouting in pain. The resident, who did not share their name, called rescue workers to assist Panuwat.
Panuwat remained in a hospital as of press time but is expected to fully recover, according to Sawang Boriboon rescue staff.
