Bangalmung –
A body of a middle-aged Thai man was found floating in a lotus lagoon in Banglamung, in the greater Pattaya area, yesterday.
The Banglamung Police was notified of the body yesterday afternoon (May 22nd) at a lotus lagoon near a railway in Rong Poa in the Ta Keantia sub-district.
Police, rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived at the lagoon to find the body of a Thai man who was later identified as Mr. Narin Kongjaroen, 56. The body was face down floating in the lagoon.
No sign of struggle was found on the man’s body. Police believe that the man died about one or two days before his body was found.
Mrs. Weang Ratloi, 69, his wife, told Banglamung police, “My husband liked to drink alcohol heavily and go hiking alone in the woods and jungle near our home with several bottles of liquor. Sometimes he went out for two days before coming back home on long drinking sessions which is why I didn’t see his multiple day absence as suspicious.”
“Today, my neighbor told me that he was found dead in the lagoon,” Weang concluded.
Mr. Snae Boonmuang, 64, the neighbor, told Banglamung police, “I was cleaning around the lagoon when I saw the body of Mr. Narin floating on the surface. I immediately called police and his wife for assistance.”
Banglamung police are reportedly still investigating the incident.
