Drivers escape serious injury after a pickup truck driver collides with taxi driver at Pattaya intersection

Banglamung –

Two drivers escaped serious injury after a pickup truck driver collided with a taxi driver at an intersection in Pattaya this morning (May 17th).

The Nongprue Police were notified of the accident at the railway intersection at 10:00 A.M. in Soi Nern Plubwan in Nongprue.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the overturned SUV taxi on a road near the damaged pickup truck. This particular intersection, The Pattaya News notes, is often hectic and has been the site of prior accidents.

The pickup truck driver Mr. Pattawan Mahachainart, 21, had not been injured while the taxi driver, Mr. Komkrit Jantimarngkoon, 43, had sustained a head injury, although it was not significant according to rescue workers.

Komkrit told Nongprue police, “I was slowing down the taxi near the intersection when the pickup truck crashed into my vehicle at high speed, causing my taxi to flip onto its side.”

Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver, Pattawan, told Nongprue police, “I deliver bread every day on this road to local businesses. Today, I didn’t see the taxi which immediately dashed out in front of me. I was unable to avoid the collision. ”

Nongprue police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of the accident for potential liability and legal action. CCTV in the vicinity will be utilized by patrol officers to determine the fault.
