Intoxicated Pattaya driver injured after he crashes his motorbike sidecar into power pole

Pattaya –

An intoxicated driver has sustained multiple injuries after he crashed his motorbike sidecar into a power pole in Pattaya early this morning (May 12th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident in Soi Marb Yailia 14 in Nongprue after midnight.

First responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a damaged motorbike sidecar (Saleng) on the road.

Nearby, rescue workers found the injured driver, Mr. Daecha Sangob, 63, who was also visibly intoxicated and reportedly admitted to drinking. A bottle of open Thai whisky was found nearby. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Daecha admitted to Pattaya Police that he was drunk on Thai rice-style whiskey when he crashed into the power pole. He will be charged with drunk driving as well as potential other legal offenses according to a spokesperson from the Pattaya Police.
