Thailand’s Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) today, May 6th, has officially received another million doses of Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccines, marking an accumulative number of 3.5 million shots being delivered in Thailand.
The additional one million shots of Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccines have been transported from Beijing, China via Air China Airlines, flight CA603, to Bangkok during the early hours of this morning.
GPO Managing Director, Dr. Witoon Danwiboon, told Thai media that the vaccines were packed in ‘Envirotainer’ temperature-controlled containers for air cargo that is able to control the temperature between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius in order to maintain the best quality of the product.
All of them will be temporarily stored at the medical care distribution center of DKSH (Thailand) Co., Ltd. before being examined for their quality by the Department of Medical Science, Ministry of Public Health. The qualified number of the vaccines will be transferred to the Department of Disease Control and distributed to medical health units nationwide for injection.
Dr. Witoon also stated that Sinovac company will be continuously providing a number of Covid-19 vaccinations. Another lot of 500,000 shots will be arriving on May 14 and 2,000,000 more will be arranged by the end of the month.
