More rain, storms, likely on the way for Chonburi, Thailand

Thailand-

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast that more rain and storms are likely on the way for Thailand this week, including over the next 24 hours.

The TMD has cautioned that the storms may be heavy at times, including rain and possibly even hail in some parts of the country. This is being driven by a high-pressure area from China extending from the Northeast and interacting with winds from the Southeast and the South China Sea, causing storms to develop, some potentially strong.

The majority of the country is forecast for a 60 to 70 percent chance of rain over the next 24 hours specifically, including Bangkok and Chonburi.

Local residents are being asked to take precautions and avoid areas that could potentially see flooding.

TPN Media notes that this April has been unusually rainy, seeing sporadic storms and rain nearly daily in Central and Eastern Thailand.
