Chonburi, home of Pattaya, announced 108 confirmed, new cases of Covid – 19

Chonburi –

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 108 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 this morning (April 28th).

This makes a total of 2,153 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of Covid-19, with 1,590 still in medical care, with one recorded death this week in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in early April.

Additionally, 562 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. Today’s cases marked an increase from yesterday’s total of 80 cases.

The district-level new cases were as follows today:

Mueang Chonburi with 26, Si Racha 18, Banglamung (Pattaya) 54, Sattahip 2, Ban Bueng 3, Panat Nikhom 2, Pan Thong 1, Nong Yai 1 and one patient from Bangkok transferred to Chonburi.

The details on today’s cases are:

  1. 24 cases of Covid-19 traced from nightclubs
    • Two from new Version pub
    • One from Berlin pub
    • One from Bone Pub
    • Two from Cetus Club
    • One from Featuring Bar
    • One from 808 Club Pattaya
    • Five patients contacted from patients who were infected from nightclubs in Pattaya.
    • Eleven patients contacted from patients who were infected from nightclubs in Mueang Chonburi.
  2. Two close contacts of previously confirmed patients from Bangkok.
  3. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Sisaket.
  4. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Nakhon Ratchasima.
  5. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Nonthaburi.
  6. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Pathum Thani.
  7. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Rayong.
  8. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Udon Thani.
  9. One close contact of previously confirmed patients from Chachoengsao.
  10. Three from “other” business places
  11. Two medical staffers
  12. Contacts with previously confirmed cases of Covid-19 in general- 25.
  13. In the process of investigation still are 43 cases.

In the last day, a total of 93 close contacts were being tested from contact tracing, and 435 people were being tested in proactive testing when medical staff goes out into the community. All are pending results.

Chonburi officials are asking people to continue to stay home, socially distance, and follow other Covid-19 related measures to control the situation.
