Pattaya –
A Pattaya City Deputy Mayor has warned of fake timelines regarding Covid-19 which has gone viral on social media this week.
The Pattaya News has also got many messages about this list of ‘Covid-19″ infections in Pattaya. Many local business operators have been affected by this fake timeline as people were afraid to visit the places on the list, many who had never, in reality, had a single confirmed infection of Covid-19.
The Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai told The Pattaya News, “Banglamung is now the top district of infection in Chonburi, this is a fact and reported on by the Chonburi Department of Public Health.”
“However, there is a fake timeline that includes multiple markets and local businesses that went viral on social media. It is not true and appears to have been created by someone with malicious intent to slander these businesses.” Manot continued.
“Please stop sharing the fake timeline. It has damaged local businesses and caused much hardship for business operators. We also want people to ensure they are not sharing fake news about curfews or lockdowns as, according to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, none of these are currently options on the table to manage the Covid-19 situation in Thailand.” Manot added.
“Please follow timelines that are issued from the Chonburi Public Health Office or shared from official offices only,” Manot concluded.
The Pattaya News notes the timelines we translate are directly taken from the Public Health Office on a daily basis and we do not translate “unofficial” or speculative timelines released by third parties.
