Chonburi, Thailand-
The province of Chonburi, Thailand, which includes Pattaya, announced this morning on their social media channels a total of 80 new, confirmed cases of Covid-19 which is the least amount of cases since April 9th and four days in a row of dropping cases.
The districts in the province where cases were found are as follows: Mueang Chonburi with 19, Si Racha with 6, Banglamung (Pattaya area) with 36, Sattahip with 3, Ban Bueng with 1, Pan Thong with 8, Koh Si Chang with 1, and 6 from other provinces brought to Chonburi for treatment.
The details on today’s cases are as follows (We are aware some of this information is very vague, this is all that was released by the Public Health Department):
- Three cases of COVID-19 that come from the Flintstones Pub in the Don Hualor sub-district of Mueang Chonburi. Since April 6th, 2021, there have been 155 cases in total from this venue.
2.1 Cetus Club Pattaya 1 case
2.2 The Garden 168 1 person
2.3 Version Pub 1 person
2.4 From an unnamed Bangkok entertainment center, 1 case
2.5 Other provincial entertainment venues, 4 people
3. People infected with COVID-19 From “other” establishments- 5 people
4. 44 people in close contact and family members of previous COVID-19 infections
5. In the process of investigation 20 cases.
Today, a total of 182 contacts were searched based on contact tracing from prior cases of Covid-19, and 352 proactive ones were searched which is when health workers go out into the local community, such as staff at entertainment venues, and test. All are currently pending results.
Chonburi Public Health Officials have cautioned people that even though cases are starting to drop to continue to stay home and work from home if possible, avoid social gatherings and parties, wear masks at all times when out of one’s home, and follow other Covid-19 precautions.
