A total number of 146 medical front line staff have been confirmed infected with the Covid-19 Coronavirus in the recent outbreak from entertainment venues in Thailand, CCSA assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan revealed yesterday, April 19th.

The assistant spokesperson told the press that most of the medical infections were doctors and nurses. They have to be isolated and perform state quarantine, resulting in a loss of medical personnel to work during the increasing number of infections in Thailand.

Moreover, it was also found that approximately 33 out of 146 medical officers were infected by being in contact with close contacts of patients as well as with patients who intentionally did not disclose their traveling timeline.

Dr. Apisamai also stated that the Ministry of Public Health is trying their best to manage available officials in all hospitals and hospitels (quarantine hotels) in order to provide treatment to infected patients nationwide.

“The Ministry of Public Health has tried to manage remaining medical personnel. However, the infection can still occur to our officials. Therefore, we urge Thai people to report their information including travel history quickly and precisely, so that all officials in relevant departments can prepare for possible infections beforehand. We kindly ask for the cooperation from the public as well.” Apisamai concluded.
