Rotary Club of Pattaya confirm with Pattaya city that peace art competition will still be held starting this Friday at Central Festival, open to the public

Pattaya, Thailand-

The Rotary Club of Pattaya is organizing an art competition among students from 12 schools in Pattaya that begins this upcoming weekend in Pattaya!

The entries, depicting each individual artist’s visual interpretation of ‘peace’, will be shown in an exhibition at Central Festival shopping mall on the 6th floor for 14 days from April 23rd until May 6th, where anyone can come and vote for your favorites. Members of the Rotary Club of Pattaya confirmed with Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekkasingh on Monday, April 19th, that the exhibition can proceed under Covid-19 precautions such as social distancing and mask-wearing.

Past Rotary Club President Niels Colov confirming with Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekkasingh on April 19th, 2021, that the event can continue while previewing artwork to be displayed.

The opening ceremony of the PEACE ART EXHIBITION is scheduled to take place on Friday the 23rd of April at 17.00 pm at Central Festival shopping mall on the sixth floor. There are plans for Pattaya city officials to cut a grand opening ribbon and open the exhibition. This event will require masks, be socially distanced, and also require all the other precautions to enter the mall due to the current Covid-19 situation in Thailand and Chonburi. The Rotary Club of Pattaya has stated they strive to meet all Covid-19 precautions and ensure that all measures and regulations are followed.

Everyone attending the opening ceremony and during the 14 days exhibition will be asked to vote for their favorite 3 paintings, so if you want a chance to give YOUR vote make sure you stop by.

Then, on Sunday, May 9th*, from 7:00 P.M. to midnight, the Rotary Club of Pattaya is staging a ticketed ‘Peace Concert’ evening at the Father Ray Foundation on Sukhumvit Road where awards for the winning art selections will be presented and money will be raised for charity. There will be prizes for best-dressed hippies, a raffle, and an auction. *If the Covid-19 situation in Chonburi delays the event, further information will be given, for now, the Rotary Club of Pattaya is moving forward.

Here is a promotional video for the event:

Appearing at the concert will be a ‘Bob Dylan/Peace & Love’ style tribute plus a special performance of the BEATLEMANIA band. Also, there will be prizes for the best-dressed hippy/peace style dress wear attending.
