Thailand-
The Thai government has encouraged the majority of their employees to work from home, including after the Songkran festival taking place this week, to help reduce the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus in Thailand.
The Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), General Nattaphon Narkphanit, issued a letter to the heads of all the government offices this week, asking for them to allow their employees and civil servants to work at home to stop any potential spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
This follows Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan O’Cha also requesting the ability for everyone to be able to work at home that is able to in the nation and urging private companies to also give the opportunity for their staff to work remotely.
General Nattaphon stated that the work at home “request” would take place until at least April 30th of this month and includes all meetings, training, and similar activities. Essential government employees would still need to report to work as normal but this “request” would affect the vast majority of government employees.
