RECAP: Thailand finds 980 domestic infections among 985 new Covid-19 daily cases in past 24 hours

Thailand announced 980 domestic infections among a total of 985 new Covid-19 Coronavirus daily cases in the past 24 hours, director-general of the Department of Disease Control announced this morning, April 12th.

The first group of 142 local infections was discovered in Bangkok as of this morning. 97 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, four were from community markets, and 36 of them were connected to other risky places. The five remaining infections were under disease investigation by the public health authorities.

The second group includes 188 cases that were reported in Bangkok’s vicinity. 41 of them were reportedly connected to entertainment venues, six were from community markets, and 116 of them were connected to other risky places. The 25 remaining infections were under disease investigation.

The last group includes 680 domestic infections that were found in other provinces. 316 of them were connected to entertainment venues, 21 were from community markets, and 343 of them were connected to other risky places. The 146 remaining infections were under disease investigation. The majority of the group was discovered in Chiang Mai alone with 246 infections.

Meanwhile, Chonburi announced 97 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 Coronavirus this morning, with a vast majority reported at Mueang Chonburi district.

As of today, 34 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 33,610 cases with 28,238 recoveries and a total of 97 deaths since the start of the pandemic. A total of 570,052 people in Thailand have been vaccinated.
