Chonburi announces 149 new confirmed cases of Covid-19

Chonburi, Thailand-

Chonburi announced 149 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 this morning, the highest number since a recent outbreak stemming primarily from entertainment venues in Bangkok took place in the past several weeks.

Of the 149 new cases 104 are from Mueang Chonburi, 5 from Si Racha, 31 from Banglamung, home of Pattaya, 6 from Phanat Nikhom, 1 from Sattahip, 1 from Ban Bueang, and 1 from outside of Chonburi that was taken locally for treatment.

As for the cases here is what has been released so far by the Chonburi Public Health Department:

19 people infected from the Flintstones Pub in the Don Hualor sub-district in Mueang Chonburi. A total of 109 cases have been confirmed from this venue so far since April 6th, 2021.

  1. Bone Pub, Pattaya, 2 cases
    Friend zone Bangsaen 1 person
    Cetus Club Pattaya 8 cases
    New Man Pub, 2 people
    Infinity Sriracha shop 1 person
    Infected from pubs in Bangkok but live locally 3 people
  2. 4 infected people from Bangkok
    1 infected person from Phuket Province
    1 infected person from Lampang Province
  3. One person infected with COVID-19 from Bangkok received treatment in Chonburi.
  4. In the process of investigating another 106 cases

Over 2,500 people have been tested in the last 24 hours and are pending results and currently self-isolating. This is a mixture of people from contact tracing and proactive searching from people who live and work mostly in entertainment venues in Chonburi.

The Chonburi Public Health Department has asked people to remain calm but to avoid crowds, wear a mask at all times when out of the home, socially distance, and follow other Covid-19 protective measures.

Entertainment venues remain closed for at least fourteen days as a result of the current outbreak in the area.
