Rescue workers were notified of the accident yesterday (April 2nd) on a rural road in the Bang Phra sub-district.

Rescue staff and associated Thai press arrived at the scene of the accident to find that the damaged black sedan had crashed into a tree on the side of a rural road.

The driver, who was only identified as Mr. Da Lery, a Cambodian national, was stuck inside the sedan and had sustained serious injuries. An unidentified passenger had also sustained moderate injuries but had not been trapped inside the vehicle.

It took about 20 minutes to free the driver out from the sedan with the help of several mechanical devices. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to a local hospital.

A witness, Mr. Thanin Boonthong, told Associated Thai press, “The driver was driving at extremely high speed before losing control and as a result crashed into the tree.”

Si Racha police noted that the incident seemed pretty clear and that there were unlikely to be any legal charges as a result of the accident.
