Pattaya area boxer has stomach slashed open by his girlfriend in what is being called by the couple an accident

A well-known local boxer had his stomach slashed open by his girlfriend in what he and her claims to be an accident in Banglamung last night (April 2nd).

The Nongprue Police was notified of the incident at 11:30 P.M. in Soi Khao Talo. They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Mr. Angkarn Pongsapan, 38 who is a well-known local boxer.

Angkarn’s belly had been slashed open with a knife and he was rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical assistance. A kitchen knife that was 30 centimeters long was found nearby by rescue staff.

Angkarn’s girlfriend, Ms. Sujitra Pitsanong, 31, told The Pattaya News, “We were arguing. I was going to put the knife back into a cabinet when my boyfriend pulled my arm. I was frightened before I pulled back. My boyfriend slipped and the knife accidentally slashed his belly.”

The Nongprue Police did not have an immediate comment on the statement of the girlfriend and did not state if they would be investigating further.
