Man searching for termites finds live hand grenade instead in Pattaya area

A man who was searching for termites to feed his fish was shocked after he found a live hand grenade in Nongprue instead.

The Banglamung Police was informed by a local resident that a grenade was found in a forest near a railway road at about noon today (March 31st).

Police and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived at the scene to find an older M26 hand grenade under a tree.

Mr. Su Supayut, 51, told The Pattaya News, “I was searching for termites for my Betta fish before I found this grenade. I ran away before calling the police.”

The EOD police told The Pattaya News the grenade was in working condition which is very dangerous.

The Nongprue Police are working on identifying the owner and where the grenade came from.
