Two teenagers injured after they run through a Pattaya red light on their motorbike and collide with pickup truck

Two teenagers have sustained serious injuries after they ran their motorbike through a red light before colliding with a pickup truck in Pattaya last night (March 24th).

The Pattaya City Police was notified of the accident at 9:30 P.M. at an intersection on Parinya Road near an intersection with Pattaya Third Road in Nongprue.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find a damaged motorbike on the road. Two injured people were found nearby who were the motorbike driver, Mr. Peerawat Sawamunee, 18, and a 17-year-old female passenger who had broken her leg.

The damaged pickup truck driver, Ms. Orawan Sanguansuk, 59, was waiting for police at the scene and was not injured.

Orawan told The Pattaya News, “I was passing though a green light when the motorbike driver ran the red light at high speed, crashing into me.”

Pattaya police are checking CCTV footage to confirm the sequence of events and determine if any legal charges will be filed.
