Pattaya, Thailand-

Enjoy golf? Especially Thai female golfing and the newly formed WPGA?  Great news then as they will be visiting Pattaya from March 26th to the 28th at the Phoenix Ladies Classic tournament at the Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club Pattaya with high baht prizes on the menu.

The tournament is designed to offer options for young, qualified, female Thai players locally without having to fly overseas which is obviously very difficult currently due to the Covid-19 situation globally and an array of border closures, quarantine rules, and other restrictions that make international travel very difficult.

The overall tournament is part of a series of tournaments sponsored by Phoenix and the newly formed WPGA.

The Phoenix Ladies Classic and Thai Women’s Professional Golf Association is led by Phoenix Golf Gold and Country Club Pattaya CEO Chanya Sawangchitr. The organization is new and had just been formed earlier this year, again to provide great options for young Thai female golfers and develop professional young golfers in Thailand. The organization is also focused on organizing world-ranking tournaments, giving players the ability to earn world ranking points locally.

Atthaya Thitikul, a teenager who has already garnered a lot of buzz for being an elite player at her young age is expected to lead a pack of experienced and elite female golfers at the tournament next weekend. She has already won two major events previously at the Phoenix golf course.

The event is also seen as being a “win” for Pattaya, which continues to drive home its positive reputation as a hub in Thailand for golfing and continues to attract significant events and interest from fans of the sport.

For more information on the tournament please contact the Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club.
