Mysterious fire breaks out in abandoned building in Pattaya overnight

Pattaya-

A mysterious fire damaged a building that according to local residents is abandoned and empty in Pattaya early this morning (March 16th). Pattaya firefighters were notified of the fire at 3:00 A.M. on Sukhumvit Road in the Naklua sub-district.

Firefighters with four fire engines and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find that a fire was heavily ablaze on the second floor of the building, which appeared to be locked, shuttered, and abandoned.

There were no injuries reported during the blaze although it took multiple teams of firefighters working together to both gain access to the building and extinguish the flames.

A nearby resident, who declined to give their name, told The Pattaya News they live across the street and had noticed the blaze, immediately calling the police. The resident stated that the building has been unused and abandoned since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out last year.

Firefighters stated the source of the fire was under investigation and they were trying to determine the status of the owner of the building. They confirmed there were no signs of residents within the premises.
