Significant number of domestic tourists visited Pattaya beach over the past weekend, says Mayor

Pattaya-

The past weekend saw a significant rise of domestic tourism in Pattaya as the situation with Covid-19 continues to improve in Chonburi.

A lot of domestic tourists and locals visited Pattaya Beach especially around sunset.

Beach parking directly on Beach Road, less strictly enforced alcohol rules, and food vendors being allowed to sell on the beach brought many more domestic tourists to Pattaya Beach. All items had been requested for some time now by Thai tourists and officials finally obliged.

A new innovation of kites for sale from beach chair vendors seemed to be popular as well with kites being seen all around the beach, especially on the Northern end.

Pattaya City Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume told the media that weekends were seeing significant increases in domestic tourism and that the city was betting big on the upcoming Songkran festival, even if throwing water is not allowed.
