Chonburi-

A 15-year-old student and his girlfriend have sustained several injuries after he drove a pickup truck into a tree in the Panthong district.

The Panthong Police was notified of the accident in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 13th, over the weekend on the Panthong – Koh Loi Road in the Na Pradoo sub-district.

Emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck had collided head-on with a tree on the side of the Panthong road.

Two injured people were found inside the pickup truck who were described as being a 15-year-old male driver who was in a student’s uniform and a 15-year-old female passenger. They were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance. Their names were withheld due to being juveniles.

The driver’s relatives told Pan Thong police that the teenage driver was bringing his girlfriend to her home in his father’s pickup truck. The relatives admitted that the young man does not have a driver’s license and is not legally permitted to drive.

Mrs. Adinan Ruenngarn, 44, a motorbike driver and witness told The Pattaya News, “The pickup truck tried to overtake me before losing control and crashing into the tree.”

Pan Thong Police have not decided if any legal charges will take place due to the accident as of press time.
