Chonburi-

A four-meter-long king cobra was caught at a house in the Bor Thong district, causing alarm for a local resident, earlier this week.

Rescue workers were notified of the king cobra at a house in the Tat thong sub-district earlier this week.

The rescue staff arrived at the house to find the plus-sized king cobra inside the house hidden under some storage boxes. With the assistance of what was described by rescue workers as a “professional snake handling team,” it took about one hour to catch the king cobra outside the house after it temporarily managed to evade rescue workers, who then called the snake handlers.

Mr. Junlajak Oermphin, 18, told Associated Thai media “I was relaxing inside the house alone when I heard some unusual sounds and my pet dog began barking and growling, dashing out of the home through an open door.”

“I stood up from where I had been lying down relaxing and I caught a brief glimpse of the rear of the snake as it slithered under storage boxes, causing me to be alarmed. This was the first time in my life I had seen a snake this size and as I had been home alone I decided to call for assistance from local authorities.” Junlajak concluded.

The king cobra will be released back to a local forest, according to the Peun Khao Rao Rak Kan rescue team, and was not harmed.
