Thailand discovered 64 domestic infections out of a total of 80 new Covid-19 daily cases in the past 24 hours, CCSA spokesperson Taweesin Visanuyothin announced at a daily press briefing this morning, March 1st.
The majority of 36 local infections were reported during proactive case finding in local communities, particularly in local markets, factories, and migrant workers dormitories, in Pathum Thani with 35 and Nonthaburi with 1. Most of them are Myanmar migrant workers. They are now isolated at provincial state quarantines and field hospitals under the supervision of public health authorities.
The other 28 infections were hospital/walk-in cases, which includes contact tracing, that was found in Samut Sakhon with 19, Tak with 3, Nakhon Pratom with 2, Bangkok with 2, Chonburi with 1, and Ratchaburi with 1. Most of them are asymptomatic, according to the reports. All of the patients are now isolated at local and field hospitals for treatment.
As of today, 196 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 26,031 cases with 25,324 recoveries and a total of 83 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
