Chonburi driver dies after his pickup truck crashes into a power pole

A local driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after his pickup truck plunged into a power pole in Chonburi this weekend.

Major Chartkanin Insorn of the Pan Thong Police was notified of the accident on the Pan Thong – Koh Loi Road in Na Pradoo sub-district.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck. The body of the driver, Mr. Manassacha Chaisaweng, 60, was stuck inside the cab.

Rescue workers used a hydraulic cutter to free the driver’s body from the pickup truck. Nearby, they found a shattered power pole.

The road was temporarily blocked for about one hour in which the electric had been cut off to fix the power pole.

Friends of Mr. Manassacha told police he was coming back from a golf course. When he arrived at a curve driving at allegedly high speed, he lost control of his pickup trick.

The accident is still under investigation.
