Chonburi –

A 60-year-old Thai man has been pronounced dead at the scene in the Pan Thong district while reportedly changing a light bulb before being tragically electrocuted.

Rescue workers were notified of the incident yesterday, (February 17th), at a house located in the Baan Kao sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find the body of Mr. Bualea Taisong, 60, lying on the floor of the home unconscious. He was pronounced dead by the rescue team staff a short time later despite resuscitation attempts.

Mrs. Nean Wongsoonthorn, 53, Mr. Bunlea’s wife, spoke to the press although she was extremely distraught over the recent incident, “I was washing dishes while my husband was removing a broken electric light bulb and replacing a new one. He had not turned off the breaker before changing the bulb and the light bulb was not a standard installation.”

“Suddenly, I heard my husband screaming before he fell down to the ground. He was holding a wire. I turned off the electricity at the breaker box and immediately called for medical assistance.”

Rescue workers stated an autopsy would be conducted to find the exact cause of the accident. The Pattaya News notes that the photo below shows that the lightbulb was not installed to regular electrical standards for lighting.
