Thai commando police raid resort in Nakhon Si Thammarat, alleged major drug dealer arrested

Commando Police today (February 13th) raided a resort in the Thasala district in which an alleged major drug dealer was arrested. Police also reportedly seized one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine and 20,000 methamphetamine pills.

Colonel Apisit Chairat from the Special Service Division (SSD) of the Commando Police along with the Thasala Police arrested 25-year-old Thai national Songphon ‘Tae’ Chaowalit.

Seized from him, according to police, were one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, 20,000 methamphetamine pills, and a firearm loaded with several bullets.

The suspect is facing charges of illegal possession of crystal methamphetamine and methamphetamine pills with intent to sell, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying a gun in public, and using drugs.

The Commando Police found that Songphon is also a wanted suspect for illegal possession of Category 1 Drugs. He has an arrest warrant from the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court.

He was taken to the Thasala Police Station. Songphon has allegedly admitted all the charges.
