Driver dies after pickup truck crashes into Chonburi roti restaurant

Chonburi –

A driver has been pronounced dead at the scene after their pickup truck crashed into a roti restaurant in the Koh Jan district last night (February 14th).

Rescue workers were notified of the accident at 11:30 P.M. on Koh Poe Road in the Ta Boonmee sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find a damaged pickup truck crashed into a roti restaurant near the road. A power cable which was snapped from the crash had hit the pickup truck and the driver.

Water pipes nearby were also broken from the crash. Staffers from the electric authority temporarily shut off the electric nearby.

Mr. Amaimonchai Jamkrajangm, 48, was found inside the cab. It took about half an hour for rescue workers to free him with a jaw of life. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

No witnesses saw the accident but locals said they heard loud noises before they discovered the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
