Chonburi announces one new confirmed case of Covid -19, related to previous Rayong case


The Chonburi Public Health Office today (February 12th) has announced one new confirmed case of the Covid – 19 Coronavirus in Chonburi.

The new confirmed case reported today is in Banglamung, the first case in almost a month in the sub-district. Chonburi had zero confirmed cases for 11 days in a row until today. Chonburi now has a total of 650 cases of Covid-19

Doctor Wichai Tanasophon said in a public statement, “The new confirmed case is a close contact of a family member of the confirmed case yesterday who works in Rayong.”

“Both of them appear to have had Covid – 19 for a long time as his viral load appears to be small. The patient is asymptomatic. It is unlikely they are contagious due to the low viral load and they have a very limited contact history in the area, mostly going from work to home.” Wichai added.

No other confirmed cases were found in 11 people who are in the same family of the new confirmed case who is being quarantined out of precaution. Regardless of the negative tests of family members and close contacts all have been isolated and quarantined out of precaution. Wichai stressed for the public not to panic.

The Rayong Public Health Office yesterday (February 11th) announced one new confirmed case of Covid – 19 Coronavirus with a timeline related to Pattaya, Chonburi.

The Rayong Public Health Office has also reported his wife is the only other person who has been infected with the virus.
