Si Racha-
A man has been arrested after he reportedly admitted to beating his one-year and eleven- month-old stepdaughter to death in Si Racha.
The Si Racha Police was notified of the incident yesterday (February 9th) at a house in the Bang Phra sub-district.
Police arrived at the house to find the bruised body of the child. Her body showed signs of heavy abuse, according to Si Racha Police. Police believed that she died at least one hour before they arrived.
Ms. Warangkana Kietprasong, 25, her mother, was crying near the child’s body when police arrived. The suspect was waiting for police outside and reportedly cooperative.
Warangkana told Si Racha police, “I have lived with my new husband Worakit ‘Game’ Jitprasong, 25, for one year. I had a daughter with my ex-husband.”
“Worakit has been jealous lately and accused me that I was having a relationship with another man. He started to assault me in a fit of rage. My daughter started crying which made him angrier and he began to hit her as well. My daughter did not survive his blows as he kept hitting her due to being furious that she would not stop crying.”
A re-ennactment of the crime was conducted today (February 10th).
Worakit ‘Game’ Jitprasong, 25, reportedly told Si Racha police after admitting to the act, “The baby kept looking at me, and would not stop crying despite me warning many times to stop. That made me enraged. I didn’t mean to kill the child, I only wanted her to stop crying.”
Worakit is facing charges of murder to a minor. He has reportedly confessed to the crimes but declined a public statement. It is unknown if he has a lawyer at this time. He remains in police custody.
