One of the truck drivers, Mr. Nukun Morya, 40, was stuck inside his cab. It took about 30 minutes for rescue workers to free him from the vehicle with a hydraulic cutter. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance for moderate injuries.

He told Mueang Chonburi Police, “The other truck seemed to have lost control from the opposite lane before crossing the central reservation and colliding directly with me. I’m not sure what caused the other truck to lose control.”

The truck driver of the other vehicle that hit Nukun, Mr. Ying Kanyama, 50, who was not injured, told Mueang Chonburi Police, “Another truck had immediately cut in front of my vehicle. I tried to avoid the collision before lost control, driving into the opposite lane and hitting Mr. Nukun.”
