Chonburi-
One person has been injured in a multi-vehicle crash which involved four large trucks and two pickup trucks in Mueang Chonburi.
The Mueang Chonburi Police was notified of the accident at 2:00 P.M. yesterday (February 8th) on the Bypass Road in the Nong Maideng sub-district.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find two large trucks that had collided directly into each other on the road.
One of the truck drivers, Mr. Nukun Morya, 40, was stuck inside his cab. It took about 30 minutes for rescue workers to free him from the vehicle with a hydraulic cutter. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance for moderate injuries.
He told Mueang Chonburi Police, “The other truck seemed to have lost control from the opposite lane before crossing the central reservation and colliding directly with me. I’m not sure what caused the other truck to lose control.”
The truck driver of the other vehicle that hit Nukun, Mr. Ying Kanyama, 50, who was not injured, told Mueang Chonburi Police, “Another truck had immediately cut in front of my vehicle. I tried to avoid the collision before lost control, driving into the opposite lane and hitting Mr. Nukun.”
It was reported by associated local press that there were in total six vehicles involved in the accident which were four trucks and two pickup trucks. The other vehicles collided into each other following the head-on collision between Nukun and Ying.
Mueang Chonburi police are still trying to determine the exact sequence of events in the accident for potential legal liability charges.
