Driver seriously injured after his motorbike collides with oil truck at Banglamung intersection

A driver has sustained serious injuries after their motorbike crashed into an oil truck at an intersection in Nongprue just after midnight (February 4th).

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 12:30 A.M. near Thep Prasit Intersection.

They arrived at the scene to find the motorbike driver, Mr. Jeerasak Boonpongsri, 45, who had sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.

Nearby, rescue staff found the damaged motorbike and the oil truck. The truck driver, Mr. Silapan Chakom, 36, was waiting for police at the scene.

Mr. Silapan told police, “I stopped the truck at the red light when the motorbike crashed into the back of my truck. I have no idea why he didn’t see me as all my lights were working properly.”

Police stated they believe Silapan’s story at this point although are reviewing CCTV.
