Si Racha, Chonburi

The Chonburi Public Relations team announced one new case of Covid-19 this morning traced in Si Racha, the first in ten days in the province.

However, Dr. Wichai Thanasopon, the Deputy Doctor of Public Health for Chonburi, stated that the case appears to be connected to a brewery cluster in Si Racha from last year and what was detected was a small amount of the virus and genetic material.

The patient is completely asymptomatic and all four family members they live with have tested negative. The patient has a connection to the prior cluster in Si Racha and a history of exposure to them, according to Dr. Wichai.

Out of precaution, the patient has been quarantined for fourteen days along with all members of their family despite the fact they tested negative and the low amount of virus in the system of the patient that is believed to be non contagious. The patient has a limited timeline and little exposure to the general public, mostly staying at home in recent weeks.

Dr. Wichai stated that this new case would not change plans for easing of restrictions tomorrow in the province as previously announced and there was no need for the public to panic.
