Si Racha –

A fire on a hill has alarmed locals in Si Racha last night (January 29th).

The Si Racha Police was notified of the fire at 7:00 P.M. on a hill behind the Si Racha Municipality office.

Firefighters with fire engines arrived at the scene to find the fire was ablaze on the hill in the center of Si Racha. Lots of locals nearby were worried that the fire could possibly spread.

Fire engines had difficulty moving onto the hill one engine at a time. However, the fire was finally brought under control after almost four hours. It took several additional hours for firefighters to make sure that the fire could not rise again due to cinders.

Si Racha officials believe that the fire might have been started by someone smoking on the hill by accident although are looking into the situation and investigating.
