National –
The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced 746 domestic infections found among a total of 759 new Covid-19 cases in Thailand in the past 24 hours.
About 724 infections were discovered during proactive findings in all communities in Samut Sakhon. Most of them are asymptomatic migrant workers who were reportedly working at large factories in the province. They are now at state quarantine and field hospitals under the supervision of provincial public health authorities with no exposure to the general population.
The other 22 domestic cases were reported in Samut Sakhon with 9, Bangkok 8, Samut Prakan 3, Nonthaburi 1, and Ayutthaya 1. Most of them are asymptomatic, according to spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan.
Some relaxation of Covid-19 measures were announced yesterday, particularly the reopening of educational institutions in all provinces, except Samut Sakhon, to be reopened next Monday, February 1st, after they have been ordered closed since the New Year’s holiday to reduce the risk of Covid-19 local transmissions.

The spokesperson concluded at the daily press briefing that more measures of relaxation, such as extending dining in hours at restaurants, will be introduced and finalized tomorrow after a large CCSA general meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha.
