The Rayong Covid â 19 center this afternoon (January 28th) announced zero new confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Rayong now has a total of 577 cases of Covid-19 with one death. The man, aged 45, worked at a high-risk place in Rayong. He had personal health issues disclosed as diabetes and heart disease.
Of those 577, 542 are Thais, while 35 are foreigners/migrant workers. Of those 577, 558 are recovered.
In total, 27,668 people were tested during active case finding so far in the province recently. These tests were in targeted high-risk areas like factories, densely packed migrant worker camps, and people with high exposure to the general public like taxi drivers and supermarket workers.
The Rayong Governor, Mr. Channa Eiamsang, told the local media today, “Please be noted that many activities or places/venues currently have been allowed to reopen and resume operation. We are looking at more easing of measures as well.”
“However, we would like to emphasize that some activities with a large group or gathering could still be very risky and could spread the Covid-19 virus through possibly asymptomatic carriers.” Channa continued.
“In this regard, the province would like to seek your kind cooperation to follow the various measures strictly and use precautions like mask-wearing and social distancing.
“Thank you to the Rayong people and all sectors for your cooperation and helping each other by donating items to relieve the impact of the Covid-19 situation.”
“Please be noted that the province has allocated various items to District Offices. All People who have suffered, can contact the District Offices, directly.” The Governor concluded.
