Driver dies after his pickup truck crashes into power pole in Ban Bueang

Ban Bueang, Chonburi –

A male driver was pronounced dead at the scene after his pickup truck crashed into a power pole in the Ban Bueang area yesterday (January 27th).

The Ban Bueang Police were notified of the accident on Road Number 344 in the Nong Paikaew sub-district.

The driver, only named as Mr. Sansern, 48, from Nakhon Si Thammarat, was stuck inside the cab after the accident.

It took about 20 minutes for rescue workers to free him with a jaw of life. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

It was reported that Mr. Sansern’s wife called his phone while his body was being removed from the pickup truck and after multiple calls a rescue worker answered the phone. She said she had just talked to him one hour ago.

Ms. Daranee, 56, a witness who was in front of her house when the accident happened, told associated Thai press “The pickup truck lost control from the opposite lane at high speed and crashed into the power pole, bringing down several cables.”

Ban Bueang police are reviewing the accident and CCTV footage. The cables were repaired by local electrical workers.
