Bangkok –
Thailand’s Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) today, January 27th, announced major arrests and confiscations of illegal electronic cigarettes and fashionable teeth braces at 15 areas nationwide between January 7th to the 26th.
The CPPD authorities arrested 11 suspects in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Sa Kaeo, and Nakhon Pathom and found more than 5,000 pieces of electronic cigarettes, liquid refills, and atomizer heads, worth approximately 3,000,000 baht during the operation.
The suspects had reportedly violated Customer Protection law B.E. 2522 and were initially charged for illegally selling and/or providing electronic cigarettes and their components without permission.
The authorities also captured a suspect who was allegedly running an illegal fashionable braces clinic in the Udon Thani province. More than 300 pieces of fashionable braces and accessories, worth about 10,000 baht, were also discovered and seized at the scene.
The suspect, whose name was not revealed to the press, was charged with selling products that are prohibited by the Consumer Protection Board (Fashion orthodontic products) and violating the order of the Consumer Protection Board No. 1/2018.
