UPDATE: Cambodian man arrested after allegedly killing his friend with ax in Ban Bueng

A Cambodian suspect who allegedly killed his friend with an ax this weekend has been arrested this morning according to various reports.

According to Ban Bueang police, the Cambodian suspect proceeded to chop at his friend’s neck, Mr. Yoona (who only goes by one name), 33, with an ax several times before fleeing the scene of the incident. This happened after a verbal argument between the two men. This incident happened at a worker’s camp in the Chonburi area and followed the men drinking whiskey together as part of a drinking circle.

The Cambodian suspect, Mr. Poech Chea, 35, has been arrested at a market in Nong Chark sub-district in Ban Bueang following a police investigation. The suspect was reportedly not cooperative with law enforcement and initially refused to answer questions.

Police took only 20 hours to arrest the suspect according to multiple reports.

The suspect later reportedly admitted to police that he murdered his friend and stated that the argument related to a monetary issue.
