A driver and a passenger became stuck inside a minivan following a crash yesterday morning in Mueang Chonburi.
The Mueang Chonburi Police were notified of the accident at 1:00 A.M. yesterday morning (January 22nd) on the Motorway in Nong Kangkok.
Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the damaged minivan on the road.
The driver, Mr. Teerayut Pimjan, 31, and his passenger Mr. Chaiwat Fooyangkoon, 40, were stuck inside the minivan following the crash.
It took about half an hour for rescue workers to free them from the minivan with hydraulic cutters. They were rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.
One hundred meters away rescue workers found a ten wheel truck, the other vehicle involved in the accident. The driver, Mr. Sutin Suklert, 54, was waiting for police at the scene. He was not injured.
He told Mueang Chonburi police, “I was overtaking another vehicle from the left side.”
“I heard a loud noise which I originally thought was my truck’s tire exploding.”
“I stopped the truck and found that it was a minivan that crashed into the rear of my truck at high speed.” Sutin concluded.
Mueang Chonburi police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of accident for potential legal action. They have not yet stated if they believe the truck was at fault.
