Pattaya-
A group of Chinese businessmen, who preferred to stay anonymous, handed out just over a thousand meals to the needy in Pattaya on Wednesday evening.
The donation event took place near Third Road and was also attended by Pattaya City Police who ensured that social distancing and other Covid-19 related measures took place.

Hundreds of local residents were seen standing in line for the event well before the giveaway.
Pattaya is currently going through a round of closures and business restrictions as well as travel restrictions associated with a recent outbreak of Covid-19 in Chonburi. Although cases have drastically reduced with zero new confirmed cases in Pattaya in the last week officials still have not lifted measures that have put tens of thousands out of work.

Although many venues can open, like restaurants, they are either restricted on hours or diminished on number of customers due to travel restrictions to the Chonburi province. To enter or leave the province currently requires permission from a district official in writing, essentially killing domestic tourism which was keeping the city alive, especially on weekends.
Chonburi Public Health Officials say they will be reviewing the measures at the end of the month. However, this isn’t a guarantee of opening.
