A driver has sustained serious injuries after his pickup truck slammed into a larger truck and a motorbike in Chonburi yesterday.
Emergency responders were notified of the accident yesterday, January 20th, 2021, on the motorway in Don Hualor, Mueang Chonburi.
Rescue staff arrived at the scene to find three damaged vehicles in total: a pickup truck, a ten-wheeler truck, and a motorbike.
The pickup truck driver, Mr. Leebnawat Jindasri, 37, who was thrown from his vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt had sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital for medical assistance.
The motorbike driver, Mr. Anuwat Pasukta, 36 said, “I parked my motorbike on the side of the road before Mr. Leebnawat crashed into the larger truck and my motorbike. I had stopped to take a brief rest and was very lucky that I wasn’t injured as I was close to the accident.”
The ten-wheeler truck driver, Mr. Chan Suamkratok, 34, told reporters, “I was driving on a straight section of the motorway when Mr. Leebnawat cut in front of me without warning causing a three-vehicle accident as he ran into me and then Mr. Anuwat.” Chan was not injured in the accident.
Chonburi police are reviewing CCTV in the area to determine the exact sequence of events and if any legal action should take place.
