RECAP: Thailand discovers 224 domestic Covid-19 infections out of 245 new cases in past 24 hours

The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced 224 domestic infections among 245 new Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, according to Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin at a daily press briefing this morning, January 10th.

A total of 74 confirmed local cases were discovered in Bangkok 14, Samut Prakan 14, Chonburi 12, Lop Buri 8, Pratum Thani 7, Chiang Mai 5, Phetchaburi 3, Ayutthaya 3, Singburi 2, Ang Thong 2, Nonthaburi 2, Samut Songkram 1, and Suphan Buri 1.

The other 107 confirmed cases are under disease investigation by provincial public health authorities in Samut Sakhon 50, Chonburi 27, Rayong 15, Chanthaburi 6, Samut Prakan 5, Bangkok 2, Chachoengsao 1, and Sa Kaeo 1.

Meanwhile, 43 more cases of both Thai and migrant workers were found during provincial proactive screening, particularly in Samut Sakhon 23, Chonburi 10, Bangkok 6, and Samut Prakan 4. Most of them are asymptomatic and are under investigation.

The map above shows the number of overall infections in all provinces in the second wave of the domestic Covid-19 Coronavirus, from December 15th, 2020, to January 9th, 2021.

Nine provinces, represented in red color, are now reporting more than 50 cases. 10 provinces, in orange color, are currently reporting between 11 to 50 cases while 20 yellow-colored provinces are between one to 10 cases.

19 green-colored provinces report no additional infections within 7 days and the other 19 provinces in white have never had reported cases during the second wave.
