Pattaya area street racer dies after he crashes his motorbike into a trailer truck

A street racer has been pronounced dead at the scene after his motorbike crashed into a trailer truck while street racing in Banglamung early this morning (January 4th).

Captain Prakasit Paladet of the Banglamung Police was notified of the accident at 3:00 A.M. on Road Number 36 (Bypass Pattaya – Rayong) in the Nong Plalai sub-district.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find many teenagers on the road.

Mr. Jeerapat Nongyai, 19, was found dead at the scene near his damaged motorbike and the trailer truck.

Teenagers at the scene told police that Mr. Jeerapat was racing with another motorbike racer at high speed with a crowd gathered nearby. Mr. Jeerapat lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the back of a trailer truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The truck driver, Mr. Prasit Suntranon, 64, told Banglamung police there were many motorbike racers who were racing on the street while he was driving his truck. Jeerapat’s motorbike crashed into the back of his truck after swerving slightly and losing control. Prasit was not injured.
