Pattaya, Thailand-
The new police Chief of Pattaya, Colonel Pisit Poonsap, along with volunteers and other officers helped hand out supplies and dry food to area residents this weekend who have either lost their jobs or been affected by Covid-19 precautions and measures that have closed many local businesses in the last week.
Chief Pisit has only just been placed into his role around Christmas Eve and one of his first responsibilities in the already hard hit Pattaya is to handle regulations and measures ordered by the Chonburi Governor to control the Covid-19 coronavirus. These measures effectively closed hundreds of venues, including retail stores in malls and entertainment venues, putting many people temporarily out of work. Unfortunately, it is unknown how long this closure period will be.
Pattaya Police members and volunteers helped hand out around the Soi Kor Phai area over 300 5kg bags of rice, water and other supplies with the assistance of NPG Company Limited, Ocean P Company Limited and Swan Drinking Water.
Police also ensured Covid-19 precautions were taken such as temperature checks, hand sanitizer being given, social distancing and mask wearing.
