Couple arrives home in Chonburi from New Year’s vacation to find home ransacked, police hunting for thief

Phan Thing, Chonburi-

A couple who live in Phan Thong arrived home from a short New Year’s vacation out of Chonburi to find their home ransacked and several items stolen by an unidentified thief.

At 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2021, Pol. Lt. Col. Songpon Thongthab, Inspector General from the Phan Thong Police Station, was informed that there was a theft at a 2-story townhouse in the Faasai Ville Village area of Phan Thong.

Officials and The Pattaya News responded to the scene to meet the victims and inspect the damage.

Mr. Thanongsak Chusrinak, 39, the owner of the home and his wife, who wasn’t named, met officers at the scene and gave them a tour of the damaged property.

Thanongsak said he and his wife had gone to Buriram just before Christmas and unfortunately did not have CCTV or a security system.

Thanongsak stated several items were stolen including a coin collection and a religious amulet worth about 5000 baht. Police are reviewing outside CCTV in the area to attempt to discover the suspect.

Lt. Col. Songpon also warned local residents before leaving home for a vacation to warn a trusted neighbor to help watch ones home or utilize a security system.
