Cambodian woman murders her Thai husband in Pattaya after misunderstanding following him passing out intoxicated in female friend’s room

Banglamung, Pattaya, Chonburi-

A Cambodian woman stabbed her husband to death this morning after what, according to Banglamung police, was a tragic misunderstanding.

The incident in question took place at 4:30 AM this morning, January 3rd, 2021, on Soi Phartisarn 8/1 in Naklua. An emergency phone call was made to police and rescue services with Sawang Boriboon who responded along with The Pattaya News reporters. Pol. Col. Sakchai Suwannukul, Commander General, Banglamung Police Station, personally responded to the incident.

The victim, 27-year-old Anon Phuak, from Nakhon Ratchasima, was found stabbed on the third floor hallway of an apartment complex in front of a room of his friend. He had been stabbed in the left side of his chest with a kitchen knife by his wife, 27-year-old Wan Lin, (wearing an orange shirt in the photos) a Cambodian national who was found sitting nearby the scene of the incident in a state of shock. She allegedly admitted to stabbing her husband to Banglamung police. The kitchen knife reportedly used in the incident was found in the bathroom of the apartment.

Ms. Sawon Mai, 28, also Cambodian, the resident of the apartment and witness to the incident, gave a statement to Banglamung Police and the Pattaya News.

Sawon stated that she, the victim and several other friends had been drinking on Soi Nern Plub Wan earlier in the evening. She said that Anon had volunteered to take her home, however, once arriving at the apartment he stated he was too intoxicated to get back to his home safely and asked to sleep off the alcohol for a few hours. She stated she agreed and let him sleep on a second mattress, alone.

However, the suspect, Ms. Wan Lin, had secretly been shadowing and trailing her husband during the night and arrived at the room, accusing him of adultery. During an intense argument she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him, killing him. After the incident, she talked to Ms. Mai and found out that the entire situation was a tragic misunderstanding.

Ms. Wan was taken into Banglamung custody and will face homicide charges following the incident. Police stated that she was in shock following the incident but being cooperative.
