Chonburi announces 32 new local transmission cases of Covid – 19

The Chonburi Public Health Office today (January 2nd) has announced 32 new confirmed cases of local transmissions of Covid –19.

The total number of Chonburi confirmed cases in this new series of infections is now 243 with one death.

Today, Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said about the death of a 47-year-old Thai woman in Banglamung, “she had diabetes.” Statements were also made stating that she had allegedly refused some treatments as below.

“On December 30th she had been confirmed of Covid – 19 with no symptoms as she was a close contact with a previous confirmed case. She was being treated at a ‘Hospital’.”

Dr Taweesin noted “a ‘Hospital’ is a hotel where Covid-19 patients who has no symptoms are being treated under observation of medical staff.

“On December 31st she was asked to move to the Banglamung Hospital as she had some symptoms. She had refused to go. She said she was still OK.”

One day after, she was pronounced dead at the ‘Hospital” after being found in her room deceased.
